"Sincerity, The Essential Quality" is an adapted translation of Shaikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi’s Hawla Rukn Al-Ikhlas. In this concise work, Shaikh Al-Qaradawi addresses a most crucial element for the success of our Islamic work.This is an adapted translation, which means that in some places we attempted to adapt the original Arabic text to be relevant to an American context. Some verses and ahadith were translated in a manner that we hope best captured the meaning of the text, instead of a strictly literal rendition of the words.The use of Arabic words in the translation was limited to instances when there was either no English equivalent or the English explanation was lengthy. In such cases, we used the Arabic term for convenience. The explanatory footnotes will help readers who are unfamiliar with basic Islamic terminology.In Arabic, the pronoun ‘he’ often refers to both genders. In an effort to convey that meaning in English, the text regularly alternates the use of ‘he’ and ‘she.’We ask Allah to forgive all of our mistakes and shortcomings in this work.Maha Ezzeddine &amp; MAS Youth Editing Team December 2006
